Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman has been an outstanding professor of psychology since 1993, and the director of the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. Her name is widely recognized with establishing the current study of the memory of witnesses and children as witnesses. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and has been honored with many national and international prizes. She has advised numerous authorities and government agencies around the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims of the law by the system. She currently serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She was a part of several professional associations which include that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the head of the America Psychological Association's divisions, Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
